The purpose of this website is to make all parents more aware of the importance of nutrition in our lives. I have chosen to focus on educating fellow parents, because I believe if we get our children on the right track at the earliest age possible, they will live much healthier lives. It is our jobs as parents to set good examples, this will in turn ensure that we are raising self confident, fulfilled and socially relevant children. Let's get our children off the prescription drugs and onto the right whole food lifestyle . It is a change that has nothing but positive repercussions-I promise you. I will direct you to articles, and teachers that will help you on your journey from usual parents to whole parents. Please feel free to add anything you can to this site, I want this to be a cooperative effort, remember it takes a village! Let's work together to get the junk foods and sodas out of our schools. We need to make it known that we want less "science" in our food, and more "food" in our food. We need to do this, or we will become a nation that lives short and dies long. Every day we continue to rely on processed "chemical cocktails" we refer to as food, is a day longer that we are harming our bodies, and setting ourselves up for the degenerative diseases that are on the rise in our country. Let's go back to basics-whole food, plain and simple-it's been growing here all along, we just overlooked it on our rush to the drive thru.
NEW YEAR - NEW LIFESTYLE!
Everywhere you look these days, it's low fat or low carb this and that. We are putting the focus on counting the wrong things in our diet. Instead of worrying about how many carbs are in our food, how about counting how much "food" is in our food! Let's educate ourselves on what to look for on our food labels. A great resource for this is "The Family Nutrition Book" by Dr. William Sears. You can get the book on AskDrSears.com. While your on the website, sign up for the free newsletter. If you aren't familiar with the Sears' family, get to know them on their website. I guarantee you will be consulting their site for years to come!
